One week ago, Gov. Whitmer took a chartered flight from Lansing to Delaware to meet with Joe Biden about being his vice president. For months, while Michigan has battled COVID-19 and devastating unemployment, Whitmer has had one foot out the door as she’s eyed becoming VP.
As the first known in-person meeting by Biden with a potential VP, it’s obvious that Whitmer is a leading contender. It also proves just how serious Whitmer is about bailing on Michigan after less than two years in office.
Michiganders need a governor that’s focused on Michigan, not their political ambitions.
