Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib is calling for the so-called Green New Deal to be included in COVID- 19 relief legislation in a tweet posted today. The far-left Green New Deal could cost 159,100 Michigan jobs and raise energy prices by $278 per month.
Tlaib’s tweet called for Joe Biden to be brave in his support of the Green New Deal. During his campaign, Biden embraced the Green New Deal, calling it a “crucial framework” for his climate policy.
Tlaib’s call for the Green New Deal comes a day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tweeted that Democrats have blocked another COVID relief bill “over their unrelated liberal wish-list.”
While far-left Democrats block COVID relief, Michigan’s unemployment agency is preparing for another wave of lay-offs after Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s latest shut down of small businesses through an order from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Governor Whitmer said today that she sent a letter to federal legislative leaders asking for a national COVID relief package.
