Whitmer Violated Her Own COVID Rules By Attending Inauguration In D.C.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer broke her own COVID-19 rules today by attending Joe Biden’s inauguration in Washington D.C. On January 13, Whitmer limited outdoor gatherings to 25 people but then herself attended Biden’s inauguration that was estimated to have “a couple of thousand” of people in attendance, per Rep. James Clyburn, co-chair of the Biden Inaugural Committee.
It seems Gov. Whitmer may not know the rules her own orders impose because she told WOOD TV reporter Rick Albin after the event that she is “following the same directives” that she has asked everyone else to follow.
Whitmer traveled to D.C. just days after restaurant owners, including some who supported her campaign for governor, pleaded to let them open and salvage their livelihoods.
Whitmer has also been nominated by Joe Biden to serve as Vice-Chair for the Democrat National Committee (DNC). The vote to select the Vice-Chair will take place on Jan. 21.

Restaurants are pleading to open to salvage their livelihoods and Whitmer is breaking her own COVID rules just to score some political points.
