Whitmer Caught Breaking Own COVID Recommendation Again
Lansing, Mich., July 28, 2021 – Yesterday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer stated at a public event that she would be wearing a mask indoors going forward, yet earlier that same day Whitmer was caught going against her own recommendation, when she joined the Detroit Pistons at practice.

Whitmer has developed a pattern of breaking the rules and recommendations she insists others follow. In May, Whitmer was caught breaking her own capacity restrictions when she went out to a bar with her friends, and Whitmer is still dealing with the fallout of her secret flight to Florida, which she took at a time she was telling Michiganders not to travel. Even more recently, Whitmer decided campaign finance rules don’t apply to her either, after her campaign took individual contributions in the hundreds of thousands, well above the $7150 limit.
“Governor Whitmer has zero credibility when it comes to recommending Michiganders do anything,” said Eric Ventimiglia, executive director for Michigan Rising Action. Ventimiglia continued, “Whitmer’s continued focus on conjuring up more unnecessary and out of touch COVID rules and restrictions is only adding to the damage she already inflicted on Michigan’s economy.”
