Dana Nessel’s Flint Investigation is in the Toilet
Lansing, Mich., August 27, 2021 – Attorney General Dana Nessel is continuing to make headlines over her controversial handling of the Flint water investigation. One day after Nessel refused to answer questions regarding her unethical approach to the case, the state’s top lawyer responded with a toilet joke on twitter.
The AG may find the situation humorous, but most found the joke gross and highly inappropriate given the fact that she has built a Flint investigation team made up of campaign donors and former business partners running her investigation, of which she claims to be “firewalled off from.”
“It is difficult to tell which is more concerning- that the verified account of the state attorney general is making bathroom jokes, or that she continues to lie about her legal team being comprised of campaign donors,” said Eric Ventimiglia, Executive Director for Michigan Rising Action. Ventimiglia continued, “Both are completely unethical yet on-brand for the Attorney General. She does mention Solicitor General Fadwa Hammoud is in charge of the case, but conveniently forgets that Hammoud is a top donor to her campaign.”
