Lansing, Mich., December 8, 2021 – Michigan Republicans are leading the charge to prevent Joe Biden’s anti-business vaccine mandates from taking effect, and even Governor Gretchen Whitmer has expressed concerns over the policy in recent days. However, the state’s top lawyer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, has remained notably silent on the issue and has thus far refused to sign on to a 27 state lawsuit challenging the order. The Detroit Free Press reports:
“Q: Will Michigan join the other states suing to stop this?
A: It’s unlikely the state of Michigan will join the case. A spokeswoman for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said Friday her office was still reviewing the rules.”
27 Attorneys General from across the country have already signed onto a lawsuit opposing Biden’s vaccine mandate. With the legislature fighting for small businesses and even the Governor weighing in, it is time for Nessel to stand up for employers or admit that she supports Biden’s unconstitutional mandates.
“Dana Nessel needs to get off the sidelines on such a critical issue and stand up for Michigan residents and businesses,” said Eric Ventimiglia, Executive Director for Michigan Rising Action. Ventimiglia continued, “Michiganders deserve an Attorney General who puts politics aside and protects them from unconstitutional federal overreach.”
