Michigan Republicans Reaffirm Support for Parents, Democrats Refuse
Lansing, Mich., February 22, 2022 – Earlier today, Michigan Republicans unanimously supported a resolution reaffirming the roles of parents in their child’s education. In a tone-deaf decision, every Democrat in the Michigan Senate voted no on the resolution. The Democrats’ refusal to support parents comes after last month’s Facebook post by the Michigan Democratic Party belittling the role of parents in schools.
This latest move to minimize the role of Michigan parents in education strengthens the evidence of Michigan Democrats being a party bent on government control. Michigan Republicans, on the other hand, are continuing to support parents and fighting to ensure they maintain their vital role in their child’s education.
“Michigan Democrats have solidified their stance of being anti-parent regarding education,” said Eric Ventimiglia, Executive Director for Michigan Rising Action. Ventimiglia continued, “Parents have a central role to play in the education of their children, and Michigan Republicans are the only party in our state that recognizes that.”
